Clarkston Rotary’s Upcoming Community Service Projects
Volunteering for Clarkston Rotary/Goodfellow newspaper sales:
Clarkston Rotarians and other community volunteers will be on the streets of the Clarkston area on Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd from 7:30 AM until 5:00 PM selling their own Rotary published paper for donations. Volunteers can sign up for two hour shifts at Signup Genius - Clarkston Rotary's Goodfellow Newspaper. 100% of the monies collected this weekend will be spent the following weekend on the Clarkston Rotary's "Shoes for Kids" program. Volunteering for “Shoes for Kids” distribution:
Clarkston Rotary's "Shoes for Kids" program will provide over 300 Clarkston school children with new shoes, winter boots, hats gloves, toothbrushes and toothpaste. The Clarkston Lions will be offer free eye exams and the Clarkston Optimists providing new socks. A local photographer, Mark Kelly, will be taking family portraits and a sitting with Santa.
"Shoes for Kids" starts with a setup at Oakland Woods Baptist Church on Maybee Road on Friday night, December 9th with up to 30 volunteers needed from 5:00 PM until about 8:30 PM. We will be setting up table and unloading inventory and setting up.
On Saturday, December 10th, 140 volunteers are needed in two hour shifts beginning at 9:00 AM until the last child leaves about 3:30 PM.
Afterwards the inventory packed, clean the church and finish before 6:00 PM. During the day food and drinks will be made available for volunteers.
